What this is

A professional hearing transcript service for Washington pro se parents who need the verbatim record of a hearing or trial. You upload the audio from the court, we transcribe it, and you receive a court-formatted Word document and PDF in your email.

Court reporters typically charge $4 to $8 per page and quote 4 to 12 weeks for delivery. For a pro se appellant on a 30 day filing window under RAP 5.2, that is often too slow. We deliver in 6 to 8 business days at a flat rate, so you can cite the transcript in your brief instead of missing your deadline.

Choose your tier

Price depends on the length of your hearing or trial. Pick the closest tier. If your transcript runs over, we email you about the small overage before we complete it - no surprise charges after delivery.

What you get

  • Verbatim transcript of your hearing, formatted in standard Washington court style with line numbers and page numbers
  • Speaker identification (Judge, Petitioner, Respondent, Counsel) labeled throughout
  • Question and answer formatting when there is testimony
  • A Washington specific cover page identifying the case, the hearing date, the judge, and the parties
  • Word document and PDF delivered to your email, ready to print, file, or paste into your brief
  • One round of corrections included if a name is spelled wrong or anything else needs fixing
Why this matters for your case
RAP 9.2 requires the verbatim report of proceedings for any appellate brief that argues from the trial court record. Most pro se parents do not learn this until the court reporter quotes them weeks of wait time and the 30 day appeal window has already closed. By the time the transcript arrives in week eight, the appeal is over. The transcript is also useful for motions to reconsider, contempt actions, and any brief that needs to cite what was actually said in court. Getting it fast changes what is possible in your case.

Optional add-ons

  • Rush turnaround ($400) cuts your delivery to 4 business days regardless of tier. Good for tight appeal deadlines or upcoming hearing dates.
  • Same-day rough draft ($200) gets you a rough version next business day for immediate strategy work. The final polished version still follows the regular timeline. The rough version is for reading and pulling citations, not for filing.

What happens after you buy

  1. Pay through secure Stripe checkout
Pick your tier, complete checkout, and you receive a confirmation email within minutes.
  2. Complete your intake from the email
The confirmation email has a secure link to a short intake form. Case info, hearing date, county, judge, parties, and the audio upload, all in one place. Takes about five minutes.
  3. Upload your audio file or files
We accept MP3, M4A, WAV, MP4, MOV, AAC, WMA, and FTR/TRM files. Multiple files are fine. Your delivery clock does not start until we receive the audio, so if you are still waiting on the court clerk, no rush. Submit the intake without audio and come back to upload later.
  4. We confirm scope within one business day
After we receive your audio we check quality and confirm scope. If anything is unclear we email you before starting work.
  5. Transcript delivered to your email
Word and PDF formats, with a Washington style cover page, line numbers, and speaker labels. Ready to print, file, or paste into your brief.

Where do I get the audio?

Most Washington superior courts record their hearings and will give you a copy on request for a small fee, typically five to twenty dollars. Contact the clerk for the county where your hearing was held, ask for the FTR (For The Record) recording of your hearing date, and request it in MP3 or WMA format. Most clerks deliver within a few business days.

If you cannot get the audio from the court for some reason, contact us before ordering and we will help you figure out the right path. If your audio quality is poor when we receive it, we will tell you within one business day and refund your order minus a fifty dollar review fee.

Important note on certification
Our transcript is excellent groundwork for your appellate filing and most customers use it both for their pro se trial court work and as the base their court reporter certifies later. For certain appellate filings the rules require a separately certified Verbatim Report of Proceedings prepared by a registered court reporter under RAP 9.2. We will tell you exactly when to order that certified version and from whom. For motions, declarations, brief drafting, and reconsideration practice, our transcript is fully usable as is.
