What this is

The reply brief is the final filing in your appeal. The respondent has just filed their brief defending the trial court ruling - now you have the chance to directly rebut every argument they made and reframe the issues one more time before the Court of Appeals decides.

Most pro se appellants either skip the reply brief or file something perfunctory. Both are mistakes. The reply is the last word the appellate judges read, and on close appeals it is often the filing that tips the decision.

What you get

  • Reply brief to WASH. R. APP. P. standards
  • Direct rebuttal to each respondent argument
  • Precise record citations throughout
  • Standard of review reinforcement on each issue
  • 1 round of corrections included
Why this matters for your case
Reply briefs are where appeals are won when the result is close. The opening brief frames your case. The respondent's brief tries to dismantle your framing. The reply is your chance to put it back together and answer their best arguments head-on. Skipping the reply means giving the respondent the last word on every contested issue.

We are not lawyers, and we do not give legal advice. We are Washington State document specialists who write the same court filings attorneys write - to the same Court of Appeals standards - at a flat fee instead of hourly billing. You stay on the case, you sign, you file. Most pro se appellants never had a real shot at affording an attorney for this work in the first place.
